The Second International Teaching Artists Conference (ITAC2)

The Second International Teaching Artists Conference(ITAC2) is to be held in Brisbane, Queensland Australia from 1-3 July, 2014. This conference sets out to identify the productive conditions that give rise to the diverse ecologies of Teaching Artistry in various parts of the world. ITAC2 will advance this global movement by developing new flows of information and knowledge exchange to advance Teaching Artistry internationally. Just as teaching artists ingeniously devise ways for the arts to open many kinds of learning, ITAC2 will not be a typical academic conference. ITAC2 is built upon demonstrations of practice and TED-talk style keynote provocations addressing the conference's three themes – Teaching Artists and Major Organisations, Teaching Artists and Community Engagement and Teaching Artists and the Digital Future. Keynote provocateurs are Professor Amandina Lihamba , Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; Scott Rankin, Big hART, Australia; and Russell Granet, Lincoln Center Education, USA. Teaching artists will also have the opportunity to lead activities with young people at the renown Out of the Box Festival (OOTB). Please visit the website for more information: www.itac2.org.au
